Jordan Polasek tending his greenhouse in El Campo, Texas, with Autumn the goldendoodle nearby
Our Story

One person, one greenhouse, one very good dog.

Texas Roots is run by Jordan Polasek out of a backyard greenhouse in El Campo, Texas — and that's the whole pitch.

Jordan Polasek spent years working in technology and cybersecurity, but the part of the day he looked forward to was the greenhouse. What started as a hobby tunnel filled with herbs, peppers, and tomatoes turned into more plants than one household could ever use.

The frustration that turned it into a business was simple: order plants online and half the time they show up crushed, dried out, or dead in a box. Jordan figured he could do better with what he was already growing — save the seed, root the cuttings, and mail them out himself, packed with care the same day they leave.

So Texas Roots sells exactly what comes out of that El Campo tunnel: heirloom seed packets, rooted cuttings, and curated starter boxes. No warehouse, no middleman, no mystery supplier. When you order, you're ordering straight from Jordan Polasek's garden bench.

Jordan also built this entire website himself — he runs and designs and codes for a living. The same hands that prune the tomatoes wrote the page you're reading.

It's a small operation on purpose. Small means honest prices, real plants, and a person who actually answers when you have a question.

The resident supervisor

Meet Autumn.

Every good operation needs a supervisor. Autumn the goldendoodle has been part of Texas Roots since the first grow bag — inspecting cuttings, patrolling the tunnel, and making sure nobody waters without her.

She's woven into the brand because she's woven into the work. If you've seen the Texas Roots mark out in El Campo, odds are Autumn was nearby.
